Illinois trip
A Week-end in Indiana, uh, Illinois
Last week in our church bulletin was a note that we would be in
Indiana ministering. No, it was Illinois, but Indiana was close. Too close, as it turned out. We drove to Greensboro to catch a plane to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, but because of complications (you don’t want to know) we landed in South Bend, Indiana, to refuel and restart the plane. Was that a prophecy in our bulletin? Anyway, after a five hour flight, we caught the bus for Rockford and a late dinner with friends.
The occasion was the 25th anniversary of our successor, Paul
Kingsbury. My husband taught Sunday school and preached in the evening service. Also, in that service, Pastor Kingsbury was honored as well as a man from the RU addictions ministry was commissioned to go to Ireland to work. Others were brought to the Lord on that day too. It was a high time for the Kingsburys and for us. We were so glad to see dear friends of years ago and to get together with long-time friends.
Our flight home was a few minutes early arriving in Greensboro and we
made good time driving home. In addition to unpacking and doing
laundry, I have been revising our email address list as well as
composing a letter to be sent to those who might be interested in our
present work. Other contacts must be made and followed up. So you
see there is much more to missions than to just go to another country
or visit people.
