Medical Missions

In March of 2008, we, along with two American doctors and a nurse, met a group of about 35 or 40 people from a Church in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to travel to Vinh Long province in the Mekong Delta for medical clinics. We planned to help them by bringing in the state-of-the-art cardiac ultrasound machine and the doctor to interpret findings as well as other medical personnel to treat indigent patients.

One of the people referred to our cardiac specialist was a 38-year-old mother. This pretty young woman was told that she had a septal defect in her heart and would die in the next year or so without surgery. Upon our return to America, Dr. Hoyt raised the money ($3000) for the surgery to be done in Ho Chi Minh City which we wired to the church. The surgery was performed, the lady recovered, and is doing well physically. More importantly, she received Christ and led five people to the Lord in the hospital. Her family members were saved as well as eleven others. So medical missions does work to bring people into the Kingdom.
