Mexico 2008

January
We left warm, sunny Mexico at 5 a.m. Saturday to return17 hours later to snow and cold of Central Virginia. No problem. With the predicted bad weather, we had great flights and no delays, except for two of our three bags, which arrived Monday. Even with a 24 hour bout of Montezuma’s revenge (Mary Boyd) and food poisoning (both), we had a great time with long-time friends and new acquaintances.

Beginning with a welcome banquet Monday evening and a wonderful service following, we enjoyed the preaching of 22 different preachers, heard 17 testimonies of God’s working all over the world, and sang with the delegates.. We also saw a PowerPoint presentation of the lives and work of Dr. and Mrs. Ralph McCoy who started the Mount Abarim ministries. We gave a report of our work in Vietnam with the medical clinics, children’s homes and English language teaching. God is using many of these to bless the nations from Mexico to Spain to Ghana to Germany and Vietnam.

While some were on a trip to Tlapa to visit the children’s home, others of us stayed to “hold the fort” and hear the aforementioned preaching, testimonies, and music. The last day was set aside for those who wanted to go on a fishing trip. Others of us enjoyed the balmy weather on the beach and parasailing. It was a blessing to see the director a children’s home in the ocean with a bunch of little girls, some whom saw the sea for the first time.

We went to thank you for lifting us up while we walked in His Way.
