Time in the Emergency Department
Tuesday, Sept 11, 2012 my husband injured his leg (not with a chain saw!). I took him to immediate care facility an hour later, and we were sent home after seeing a doctor. The pain and swelling in his foot started later and I took him to the ER at 9 p.m. At 1:30 a.m. we were sent home again with pain killers and instructions to keep his foot elevated. At least no surgery was required to drain the area.
Friday, Sept 14
My husband's leg is a problem. It was fine until the middle of the day yesterday when it was more swollen and "tight." He called three doctors, and when they couldn't see him or return the call, we went back to the ER. We were there from 2:30 till 11:30 at night. Finally, they gave him an IV antibiotic at 10:20 p.m. After waiting all that time! We came home at midnight and will go back to the ER to have it checked Saturday morning.
Saturday, Sept. 15
We were in the ER Saturday from 7:30 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. Diagnosis – cellulitis, rest and keeping foot up is prescribed along with antibiotics.
