We're off again!

January 2007 report:
Alleyway missions is about to go “on the road” for 2007. After a blessed year in 2006, we are greatly encouraged as to the present opportunities. Last year saw unexpected doors open, unanticipated numbers of people whom we were allowed to train, counsel and supply. We were also blessed with a significant number of professions of faith. What an uplifting development this was!

As we have already reported to some, our journey last year took us around 200,000 miles to serve on five continents. The gifts of God’s people combined with the support stipend of our church, Timberlake Baptist, was sufficient for covering our basic travel expenses AND allowing us the privilege of investing in other countries in several orphanages, children’s hospitals, scholarships for teens whose parents are deceased or unable to help them.

This year we are starting off running as we will be ministering in the Midwest and ministering in a mission conference and with a local church group in Mexico in January.

In February we will return to Vietnam. There is a local church in Ho Chi Minh City with which we are connecting, and through this relationship, the plan is to bring some short-term medical clinics to several locations in the city. A further need is for three thousand or more dollars to be given to continue to help several children’s homes and help us in sharing the gospel with authorities as we share our bounty. We will finalize arrangements for Dr. Wally Saunders to give marketing lectures at Ho Chi Minh University.

March ministries include a 12-day project in India with Grace Bible College. Two or three other pastors and three Christian workers are accompanying me (Jim) to the college for an intensive week of Bible teaching (800 college students). An internationally well- known photographer as well as the pastor of the church where Reformers Unanimous addictions ministry was founded are joining us in this venture. I have been invited to close the conference with the commencement message to the graduates. These preacher boys leave to go to almost every corner of Asia and the Middle East. We are highly honored to have been given this invitation.

As you contemplate these open doors, we ask above all things that you carry us to the throne of grace that we might continue to “receive mercy and grace to help in time of need” … which seems to be all the time
