After almost two months with a mudhole behind our house, the work has begun on the lake. Big CatBig Caterpillars have been working all day for several days to bring in huge pipes as well as prepare the area around the drain. One day when the men were hard at work, we brought our two-year-old grandson to see the machines at work. He was fascinated by the equipment and the progress being made. Cor
At the same time a man was netting the few fish left in the small amount of water to take them to another lake and not just let them die. The day we were out watching the machines, a 40 inch carp was caught and put in a box with lake water to be transferred to the other lake. That was even more riveting to the little guy than the machines.
We enjoyed having him here as much as he liked seeing all that work going on.
The first part of last week, we were in mission oonference. We told the children about our time in Vietnam as well as showed pictures of that country. My husband also dressed like a Middle Eastern sheep herder and gave an account of the work of sheep herders. It was a good week.
It doesn’t seem like fall with temperatures in the 80s and 90s, but cool weather will be here soon.
